Based on a recent study, the article “Health Risks as Temperature Rises” stated, “[The] body can’t cool itself the way it normally does… When body temperatures start to rise slowly, that’s when you start to exhibit heat-related symptoms… it can lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke.” This proves that students can get sick with high heat and that schools should be closed. So, this is why schools should close.

In addition, schools should close when the weather outside is higher or equal to 93°F. This is because 93°F is considered hot and dangerous. Students could pass out and lose their consciousness. According to the National Weather Service, “a heat index at or above 90 degrees can pose health risks,” Says said Danielle Wiggins, a journalist at WKYC Studios 3News. Based on this evidence, schools should certainly close when the heat outside is too much.

Also, older schools that do not have AC should be remodeled. In older schools, the teacher needs to open the windows and doors for cold air to pass through.
