While Carter was sleeping, there was a disturbance in the pool. The pool had ripples coming out of it. But it was not rippling how normal pools would ripple. It rippled like a tidal wave. It rippled like a tsunami. And then, just as suddenly as it started, it stopped. Carter, not noticing any of this over the nighttime, decided to go for a morning swim. He got changed and ran outside to dive in the pool when he noticed that the pool looked green. It looked like a swirl of green, blue, and purple. Not knowing why, he decided to get a closer look. As he got closer he felt it tugging at him. He was backing away when it pulled him into the pool! He was drowning, deeper and deeper, until he couldn’t hold his breath any longer. He attempted to breathe, and it worked. He was able to breathe underwater! He swam and swam higher and higher, until he got to the top of his pool. Or rather, the start of an ocean larger than all of them combined. There was a whole entire city in it that looked like an underwater city! He swam towards it all, and came into one of the biggest buildings. There, there were many different kinds of animals. Huge mutant crabs, fishes, lobsters, you name it. Carter wondered why he had gotten there in the first place.

Then Carter looked up. There were millions of potholes and divots in what looked like the top of the ocean. They all looked like his pool. His guess was that all of them were bodies of water that had opened potholes like his swimming pool. Then, he saw the king (he guessed) of this place. He looked like a combination of all the animals combined! His legs looked like a lobsters, his chest looked like the chest of a whale, and his face looked like a humans, but with barnacles coming down them. He looked across the crowd until his bright seaweed green eyes landed on Carter. He spoke to Carter in a voice like the riptide. “What brings you here of all places, human?” Carter replied, ”I don’t know, I just wanted to swim in my pool!” The king laughed. “Then we will let you swim in your pool. The king snapped and 3 large lobsters came circling around Carter. They all snapped their pincers at the same time, making his knees go weak. Next thing Carter knew, he woke up by his pool, wondering what just happened. Carter breathed a sigh of relief to be in familiar territory. “Finally,” he whispers to himself,” I get to swim in my pool.”
