The Funny Road Trip

One day, my dad told me to pack up a suitcase and get ready downstairs. He told me that we were going to have a road trip, which would be 14 hours and 28 minutes. After thirty minutes, we were all ready to go. We took the van because we had many suitcases. When we started driving on the highway my dad found out that we needed more gas.

The nearest gas station was 15 miles away, but we could only drive 5 miles. My dad started to call the tow truck and made us wait on the side of the road. The highway started to get more traffic, so it would be hours until the tow truck could come. Finally the car came, and he said that we could ride in the broken car, so all of us could go. The ride was sickening, but we all made it.

After getting some gas, we kept on going. We went to a trail in the evening as a break to stretch our legs. We went very deep into the forest, and there were no signs to show where we were going. Pretty soon we were all lost. My dad had a compass and knew where the place we started was, but he only knew the direction.

We had to ditch the trail and go through the trees. When we were close to getting to the parking lot we saw a rushing river. For once, I was happy to smell the fumes of cars. We had to hop across stones in the middle of the river, and they were covered with moss making it very slippery. We had almost all made it across when my dad fell into the river! Luckily, the river was not so deep, and he walked the rest.

After a ton of arguments between my mom and dad, they came up with a solution. They said we could all go home and enjoy the rest of our summer.
