Outgoing, serious, and intelligent.

That was the personality of Mary.

Born into a wealthy family and always at the top of her academic career, Mary was honored by everybody. She received prestigious awards and her beauty was immeasurable. At the age of 16, this considerate young lady was satisfied with everything that was given to her. The world was her oyster. At least, that’s what she thought until her second year in high school.

It was a calm day at Mary’s high school. The sun was out, the birds were chirping, and students were walking around the elegant courtyard. She thought that her day was going to go well, like they normally do. She was a very popular girl and had a kind heart. Anybody who called her for advice always received thoughtful words.

Mary, who unsurprisingly was also always early to school, had the time to stroll in the garden. She enjoyed the small number of students during the early morning and had time to take in the wonderful view. She held her briefcase, and stood there in the middle of the pavement, looking out at the rest of her surroundings. Suddenly, she felt a tap on her shoulder.

Startled, she looked behind her. It was a tall, attractive blonde man with piercing blue eyes. He was wearing the school uniform and was at least 5 inches taller than her.

“He means business, by coming up to me, holding that paper in his hand,” she thought. “I wonder what it could be for.”

She glanced at the paper. It turns out that the young man, named Shino, was campaigning for Student Council President. She grinned, menacingly.

“I suppose you’re here because you want me to help you write a speech for your campaign for Student Council President?” asked Mary.

Shino was surprised, and impressed by the confidence in her voice.

“If you don’t mind, Mary,” he replied.

“What makes you think that you’re worthy of becoming Student Council President, Shino?”

No answer.

“What do you hope to achieve for the school if you get the position?”

He replied.

“I hope to make the school a better place. This includes keeping everything clean by managing the chairs in the gym during school assemblies. I have also looked at the school’s extracurricular budget, and it seems that these funds have been decreasing lately, and I would like to change that. I’ve also figured that you’re a great person, not regarding your popularity and appearance, but your personality and status.”

Mary was already attracted to this young man. She figured that she adored his looks, his goals, and his personality, because of little hints she sensed in her body.

She thought out of the blue, “If I help him campaign, then he’ll choose me as the Vice President! Then I can see him for the rest of the year, and we’ll manage the school together! No…how could this be? How could I have met him a few minutes ago and have him become my first crush?”

“Mary, are you alright?” Shino questioned.

“I…,”

“No! How could I stutter?!” she asked herself in disbelief.

“I’m fine! You don’t need to worry about me! I’ll think about it!” she blurted, and ran away, embarrassed at her own statement.

“Alright, thank you so much!” Mary heard Shino shouting from behind.

It was their first-time meeting, and just after a few minutes, the two have already fallen for each other.

Shino watched, arms reaching out, as Mary was running into the school. He smiled his face a red color and walked away.

It was quite a miraculous first impression.
