Technology causes more problems than it solves
Technology is everywhere in my life, but instead of helping me, I believe it’s affecting life in a very negative way. While many people say technology makes things easier, I think it often creates more problems than it solves.
One major problem is distraction. Phones, social media, and games make it very hard to focus on schoolwork. Even when students try to study, notifications and things on our phones that we care about pull our attention away and distract us.

Technology also affects how people communicate. Instead of talking face-to-face, many people spend more time texting or scrolling. This can make friendship less real and meaningful. In our real life, when you’re texting on your phone with your friends, words are often weaker than when you talk face to face. When you’re reading what your friend sent to you, you’re only reading a sentence, and you can still understand what it means, but it’s less emotional. Think about how you talk to your friends face-to-face. I don’t know about others, but when I see my friends, I feel relieved. We talk about what we have gone through today during classes and complain about events that we are tired of. But when you turn it into words that show up randomly on your phone, it’s just like you’re reading the news.

Another issue is how technology affects health. Spending too much time on technology can lead to less sleep, eye strain, and less physical activity. According to Eye and Health “Every time you gaze at a digital screen, your eyes are exposed to blue light. This high-energy visible (HEV) light has shorter wavelengths, which causes a higher amount of energy to be emitted. The digital age’s omnipresent screens mean that your eyes are absorbing more blue light than ever before, which could potentially affect your vision over time.” After overusing your technology, your vision can get damaged so badly that affect your daily life.
When walking on street, I often see people wearing headphones and playing on their phones. It is very dangerous, because all your attention is focused on your phone instead of looking around for cars and roads. Over time, it can harm both physical and mental health.
In my opinion, technology is not all bad, but the way it is used today is damaging our lives. We need to set limits and make sure it doesn’t take away important parts of being human.
