T-rex Have Smart Brains like Modern-Day Birds
You might have seen them in movies. They’re often the strong, powerful ones, but not so smart. But today, scientists investigated and found out they might have been smarter than we think. Scientists like Steve Brusatte investigated and wrote a book in April 2026.

It is commonly known that dinosaurs went extinct because of the meteorite/asteroid that hit Earth. But some of them survived. The creatures that survived the crash, in the present, we call them birds. When the meteorite hit Earth, birds developed adaptations. They ate seeds, so when the fires burned up the forests, they were able to live on. Also, birds were fast, which helped them avoid getting killed by fires. Unlike most other dinosaurs, they are big and heavy.

Although they’re not that alike, there is still dinosaur DNA in birds.

Scientists also researched and investigated them. Birds can use tools and solve problems. Scientists used T. rex fossils to compare them with bird brains; turns out, they’re alike. There’s other evidence too. A quail has a trait, a hip, that resembles that of the T. rex and other dinosaurs. Also, chicks, even in the egg, grow teeth.

Scientists are hoping to discover what the lives of dinosaurs were like and more interesting facts about them.
“When they are confronted with a crisis, maybe not all of them make it through, but some of them do, and they can repopulate really quickly. That is the story of the asteroid. They were the only dinosaurs to survive,” a famous scientist named Steve Brusatte once said.
