Recess: There was a talking fox that walked next to me and politely asked, “I need help delivering an important letter across town before sunset, but I cannot read street signs. Can you help me?”
“Yes, I can help you. Can you wait for me here at the flag pole where it’s not so sunny?” I responded. The fox said yes. So after school, I met the fox at the flag pole. The fox said his name was Joe, and he was hungry, so I got him a few snacks that he wanted. After Joe was done eating, we started the journey. Joe showed his map to me. And the letter had to be delivered to San Jose, which was like 30 miles away. We took many breaks along the way, and I followed the streets signs. By the time we got there, it was almost sunset, and we arrived safely at a place that had a palace across the street. Joe thanked me and showed me why the letter was important. It was a bill, and the people who received it had to pay the President $400! And there was another piece of mail that was addressed to Joe’s cousin. And inside the cousin’s mail was a gift card that he won on a scratch card at the casino! Joe said his cousin’s name was Mark. Mark thanked Joe and me and gave us each $5. And on the journey back, we got food and took many buses to get back home. We talked about how we can see each other again, but that topic lasted only 40 minutes, and the rest of the time, we played games that I had packed. The games were Chopsticks, 2 player games online, Coconut, and Heads or Tails. The games took the whole time. When we got back home, it was 7:30 p.m. Before we said good bye to each other, we waited and thought that maybe we can get each other’s phone numbers because we were close friends now. Instead, the fox remembered that he had a card and gave me an card that had his name, address, and number.
