Hemophilia A has a lack of clotting factor 8 and hemophilia has a lack of clotting of factor 9. These differences affect the severity of the effects.
The new treatment is an injection of gene therapy for hemophilia B. Doctors say that after the treatment, it will take about three years for the disorder to fully heal. Researchers are also working on treatments for hemophilia A, as well as options for children with this type of disorder.
