In my opinion, schools in the UK should be closed temporarily because of the heat. At 105 degrees Fahrenheit, schools should move online.

Temperatures of 105 degrees Fahrenheit can lead to exhaustion and maybe heat stroke. This can lead the school to be sued. The temperature can also tire students out and make them think more about hydration than learning. According to Harvard Health Publishing, “But if a person spends too much time in the heat without taking in enough fluids, the body’s cooling processes can’t work properly.”

In the 1970s, schools had no air conditioning and kept the heat in, this would lead to potential health risks. This lead students and teachers to struggle to cool off, schools were later redesigned to allow students to cool off
Since the UK warms twice as fast as the rest of the world, the students in the UK need proper support. Without air conditioning, students will suffer from the heat and struggle to survive school. They will be cooked under the sun. Without proper support, the school won’t be as active as before. That means students won’t be as aware.
Even if the schools have air conditioning, students won’t be able to focus during heat waves. Students will not listen in class. The water will be used twice as fast, and P.E class will be canceled. Students and teachers will get painful headaches.

Although air conditioning helps the students, it can cost a lot to install in older schools. Air conditioning installation takes away from the teacher’s salary and consumes a lot of electricity. Also, keeping the air conditioning running takes a lot of energy. As a more energy-efficient alternative, it also costs a lot to install solar panels.

Every single student deserves a place where they can focus and feel comfortable. Overheated classrooms don’t only provide discomfort, they can hinder concentration, impact health, and widen the learning gap. If schools invest in air conditioning, students can have brighter futures.
