Lilo & Stitch Live Action: A Heartfelt but Flawed Retelling”

Disney’s original series “Lilo and Stitch” has a new live action movie, featuring Maia Kealoha as Lilo and Chris Sanders as Stitch, and has many different reviews from everyone around the world. The live action is based off of Disney’s Lilo and Stitch, and it talks about the unlikely friendship between Lilo, a young, free-spirited Hawaiian girl, and Stitch, an evil, smart alien creature. I recently just watched it, and I feel like the live action could’ve done better, rating it a 3 stars out of 5.
The Golden Book of Pi

It was the first time Dr. Derek pulled an all-nighter. With the new arrival of a supercomputer at his science lab, he had been able to calculate countless digits of the irrational number pi, and he had been using it to find strings of numbers coincidentally clumped together to indicate some meaning of why pi was that exact number.
The Spark That Made Me a Storyteller

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been driven by one passion: the desire to create. I didn’t know about this passion until I saw a film that would change my life— Spider-Man, directed by Sam Raimi. There was a scene in the movie where Peter Parker is brainstorming ideas for his superhero suit, and something about that scene in particular just sparked an interest within me- an aspiration that was hard to describe, but it caused me to pick up a pencil and start drawing. I was still very young, so obviously my drawings kind of looked like garbage, but I kept persisting. I filled notebooks with sketches, I would draw in the hopes to be as good as the other artists that inspired me.

Sharing My Culture Through Food

One aspect of my culture that I would share is the food. There are a couple of traditional foods that my family makes to celebrate holidays, like the Lunar New Year, when dumplings are made to represent wealth and prosperity. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, mooncakes are eaten as a symbol of reunion and prosperity.
My Simple and Favorite Meal

My favorite food is tomato egg rice. It is simple to make and tastes okay. I usually eat it for lunch or dinner. Sometimes I add tofu to make it a bit different. It does not take long to cook, which is why I like it.
From Lookalikes to Lifelong Friends

Once, there were two girls that looked the same, Mia and Emma. Mia’s parents found good jobs that paid really well, but they had to move to another town. Luckily, they found a good private school that Mia could go to. It was the same school Emma went to

Controversy Over U.S. Travel Ban Challenges American Ideals

Acts that exclude people from traveling, emigrating, or seeking refuge in the USA have been seen as controversial throughout the history of the republic. This is as most of these act’s have been against certain groups of people and end up making it so that the ones who have fled to the USA to secure freedom have to deal with discrimination and strife. This is especially controversial considering the fact that one of the main slogans of the nation was this “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” written on the statue of liberty, a symbol of american freedom and rights.

I wanted to thank you. The last few years of my life have been the best I’ve ever had. Thank you for making me see things in a better way. Thank you for being so darn persistent when you wanted me to open the door and have an actual conversation. Thank you for the cookies. And thank you for making me realize how much living I still had to do.
