If you’re a fan of Pokémon, then you might be excited to hear about the loads of announcements in The Pokémon Company’s official Pokémon Presents update on Tuesday.
Pokémon is a long-running game series about hundreds of different kinds of “pocket monsters” or Pokémon. Pokémons can be collected and trained up for battle by the players. Over the years it has made related video games, mobile games, TV series, films and a card game. And Tuesday’s announcements promised even more for Pokémon fans. Not only there was a trailer released for the brand new Switch 2 Pokémon Legends: Z-A game, but there’s also a new theme park attraction and new shows to look out for.
Below we’ve picked out the top two moments from the livestream announcements:
The trailer for the next Pokémon Legends game, Z-A, took us on a tour around Lumiose City. Players are invited to join the MZ crew, as they work their way up the rankings of Pokémon trainer from Z to A by doing Pokemon battle. The trailer explains that wild Pokémon can be caught and trained by day in the city, and go to battle at night. The game is available to pre-order ahead of release in October. There will be editions for both the Switch and the new Switch Switch 2, but they come with a hefty price tag of £49.99 for the game download alone.
Tokyo theme park Yomiuri Land is set to open a new Pokémon attraction park. It will be the first permanent outdoor Pokémon themed attraction park. The livestream said the PokéPark KANTO, a region in the Pokemon story will include a forest where Pokémon lives and a town where visitors can meet and greets and watch parades with the Pokémon. It remains a mystery of how the Pokémon will look in the park and there are no official images of the attraction itself. Tickets will be available to buy from late 2025, with the park set to open up to visitors from 2026 – so watch this space!
