The NBA Finals Are Now Tied 1-1 After OKC Thunder's Epic

On Sunday night’s 2025 NBA Finals game, the Oklahoma City Thunder easily managed to win Game 2 123-107, tying the series. This time, there was no crazy comeback from the Indiana Pacers, instead, the Thunder dominated the game.
Having such a young team and the 2025 MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder was NBA’s best team throughout the regular season and is expected to win the championship based on of sport-betting stats gathered from basketball fans, such as DraftKings Sportsbook. According to the Athletic, “Oklahoma City was the NBA’s best regular-season team with 68 wins, hasn’t lost consecutive games since November and beat its opponents by more points than any team in history.”
The Indiana Pacers, the “underdogs”, were outmatched by the Thunder’s defense. On Sunday night, Tyrese Haliburton, Indiana’s point guard, contributed 17 points and 6 assists to the team while Myles Turner scored 16 points and Pascal Siakam only scored 15 points. On the other hand, the Thunder’s team was very solid. Gilgeous-Alexander scored a high of 34 points, while their other players like Holmgren, Caruso, Wiggins, and Williams all scored over 15 points each.
During the press conference, Indiana’s head coach Rick Carlisle, was talking about how the Pacers will have to level up for Game 3. ‘I don’t know if there was any lineup that they used that wasn’t impactful for them,’ Rick Carlisle told the press after their loss. ‘Caruso and Wiggins, both those guys shot it well. They caused other problems. They ran it well. They made plays. They got a great feel to cut, and they hurt you in a lot of different ways. But you know, Shai, you can mark down 34 points before they even get on the plane tomorrow, you know, for the next game. The guy’s going to score. We’ve got to find ways to make it as tough as possible on him. Williams played really well tonight. All their guys played well. And so we’re going to have to do a lot of things better.'”
Additionally, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has passed many impressive accomplishments. After his first bucket in Game 2, he went over 3,000 points throughout this season, including the regular season as well as the playoffs. In fact, he is only the 12th player to be able to hit this mark. He is also the first to make 72 points in just 2 games of his first career NBA Finals.
Game 3 will be in Indianapolis on Wednesday night, with the Indiana Pacers home-court advantage. Don’t miss the game on Wednesday night because this game could decide it all!
