June 24th, 2026. Due to some extreme heat, some dangerous earthquakes have occurred in Venezuela affecting its citizens.

Venezuela suffered from two earthquakes this. This was not very common since the last time a strong earthquake hit was during the 1900s.

The first quake that had a strong magnitude of 7.2! Then, only forty seconds later, another earthquake hit with a magnitude of 7.5.

This was very dangerous because the two earthquakes occurred very close together, and it happened at a shallow depth. Even if you were living hundreds of miles away (160 kilometers), you would still feel the intense shaking!

The shaking was intense as many homes made with bricks or adobe easily broke down too. ! In some parts, ten-story buildings fell.

Leader of the Venezuela National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, reported that more than 1450 people died and about 3100 people were injured in the natural disaster.

Twenty-four countries participated in the rescue. They used machines, like flashlights, digging machines, and many more. Even though 275 people were rescued, it has only become harder to find more people.

It has been hard was hard for Venezuela before the earthquakes too, and earthquakes kept making it worse. Many hospitals were also damaged because of the earthquakes.

Currently, according to the United Nation’s Aid Industry, more than 1.8 million people need emergency aid to continue to live.
