Millie, The Dream, And The Dragon

Millie Green was dreaming. She was dreaming about a dragon. A big, black dragon with humorously orange eyes the size of a treadmill. She was riding on the back of that very dragon, flying higher than the tallest building on earth, taller than Mount Everest.
Then, suddenly, she woke up. She could still remember the dragon’s orange eyes, the flying. But that was all a dream. Oh, how she wished the dream was real and that she could meet and tame the dragon.
“Dragons aren’t real, and will never be real,” she told herself firmly.
Out of the corner of her eye, Millie saw a big black tail whip out of sight behind a sofa.
“Could that tail be a dragon’s tail?” she wondered.
Slowly, quietly, Millie inched to the sofa. There, hiding behind the sofa was the exact same-looking dragon. He was black, had friendly orange eyes, and was the size of a treadmill!
Without warning, the dragon charged towards Millie. He threw Millie on his back, rammed a hole through the front door of her house, and took off into the morning sky, with Millie clinging onto his back for dear life. Soon though, she managed to get comfy.
“This is just like the dream I had!” Millie exclaimed.
The dragon gracefully plunged into a straight down dive. Strangely, Millie knew just how cling on.
“WhooOOOO-HOoooo!” cried Millie.
The dream actually came true! Millie was amazed and entertained to wonder why.
Soon enough, Millie arrived back at the house.
“THAT WAS SOOOO COOL!!!” Millie said.
She closed her eyes.
FLASH!!!!
The dragon was gone. So was the hole, but Millie could very clearly remember how the dragon flew. She looked around searching the ground for the dragon. Millie only saw a few jet-black dragon scales. One by one, Millie picked the scales up and put them in her pocket.
“Whew! That was the funnest, coolest day of my life!” Millie sighed.
She went back inside, sat on the sofa the dragon first was hiding behind and said, “I guess dragons are real”.
