Under the pillowcase, in pockets, phones are everywhere, always someplace in arm’s reach. I am Troy Qian and I recently read the article: undefined. The author writes about the glory of putting phones down and living in the moment. In this current era, everyone has been affected by the constant use of the internet. maybe Perhaps it is time to take a step back in history and spend some time without it. The article inspired me to do exactly that.
During social events everywhere anywhere, I have always noticed groups of people immersed in their phones and choosing to not to socialize with anyone. Sometimes I am one of those individuals. and It is difficult to create a memorable experience is difficult when glued to a screen. The author states that people usually take a peek at their phones to “avoid conversations with others.” while also This inevitably makes quality time with others feel less special. Friendships are created and continued through proper quality time. When the time spent together/physically communicating gets interrupted by the constant buzzing and the unconscious urge to check a phone, how could one make a new best friend?
Friends can be made from simple common interests, but best friends are formed from a memorable first experience and the continuance of exciting memories. The first step is to keep the phones a safe distance away and choose to “live in the moment.”
