Let’s Protect Our Beautiful Environment
In my opinion, people are not doing enough as individuals to protect our environment.

Nowadays, people are still throwing trash into the ocean, so our beautiful ocean is becoming polluted. According to Time for Kids, a research group investigating the ocean has found that, oceans cover more than 70 percent of Earth’s surface. They’re home to marine animals, from 100-foot-long blue whales to inch-long seahorses. However, oceans are littered with plastic trash, from big laundry-detergent bottles to tiny flecks called micro plastics, some of which are invisible without a microscope.

Some people may say that people just throwing a few pieces of trash in oceans doesn’t matter. But I want to say that, according to National Geographic, there are about 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic trash in the ocean. Secondly, littering in the ocean matters a lot to sea animals. Many people just throw plastic bags or plastic bottles in the ocean. It’s a simple movement, but it will hurt the animals who eat or are trapped by plastic. Animals might think that plastic bags are their prey so they will eat their “prey” and soon they will get sick or even killed by them.

So in conclusion, I think that people are not doing enough as individuals to protect our environment. People’s little actions matter a lot to ocean and sea animals. In my opinion, the government should strengthen the management of policies to clean up the oceans. And, most importantly, we need to start with ourselves, from simple actions like picking up the trash beside the ocean. So why don’t we start now to protect our beautiful oceans and the environment?
