Once, there were two girls that looked the same, Mia and Emma. Mia’s parents found good jobs that paid really well, but they had to move to another town. Luckily, they found a good private school that Mia could go to. It was the same school Emma went to.

On Mia’s first day of school, everyone started saying she looked the exact same as Emma did. Both were very annoyed and kept telling everyone they weren’t twins, but people still asked. Emma didn’t like Mia because she felt like Mia was the reason everyone started treating her weird, so she avoided her as much as she could.

When their parents met each other, they became good friends because they both worked at the same job. Because of that, when Mia’s parents were busy, Mia went to Emma’s house. Mostly, Emma stayed in her room when Mia was over, but one time, her parents forced her not to. Emma realized Mia was interesting and found she liked her, but Mia didn’t like Emma.

“We’re going to a carnival. It’s famous for its clowns,” Emma’s mom said. Mia started to become scared because she was scared of clowns. Emma’s parents didn’t notice, but Emma did, and she could tell Mia really didn’t want to go. So she came up with an idea not to go to the carnival since she wanted Mia to like her.

“Try to memorize the road,” she said to Mia in the car. The carnival was close enough to Emma’s house so they could walk there. Mia didn’t like Emma, so even though she hated clowns, she looked at her lap the whole way.

As soon as Emma’s parents weren’t looking, Emma grabbed Mia’s hand and dragged her away. She memorized the road, and they walked the entire way back to Emma’s house. Mia realized what she was doing and felt very grateful.

Emma’s parents were mad at her, but Emma felt like it was worth it. In the end, both of them became very good friends.
