Global warming was a concern and now it is a reality. Several countries over throughout the world saw a great jump in temperature this summer, particularly in Europe, that had people finding ways to cool down.

People in the across different cities in Europe started to cool down by swimming in fountains and rivers. Temperatures in places like Paris often hit 42 degrees Celsius, so outside and everyone was stuck indoors. Children started to complain about how they are stuck inside could not go outside for recess and lunch during school.

Scientists started to realized that a heatwave struck globally and people may need to start adapting to the heat. For example, they need to start using water and air conditioning more sparingly. This heat and extreme temperatures are stirring up people’s desires to use air conditioning and consume more water. However, governments are warning people to use less of these resources in order to have lower temperatures in the long run. Some people even started to line up in front of malls in order to feel the air conditioning.

Europeans may need to get used to these high temperatures moving forward as climate change continues.
