Drawing!
Drawing was a hobby I had discovered many years ago. It had started small, when I was maybe about three years old, it was something I had done purely because I had the urge to. As time flew past, and I was six years old, my mother seemed to see the artistic talent in me, therefore taking me to many art classes to participate in. This made me very aware of the thing: art.

Now that I’m older and fully aware of what I’m doing, I’ve realized I really, really like to draw. However, compared to a ten-year-old, a ten-year-old is still relatively young, but I could tell the black lines on the paper were starting to bend toward my will under my pencil, which also means that very unappealing art was being manifested under my pencil. It was hard to remember how I thought I had made millions of masterpieces in those years.

Surprisingly, I never gave up drawing, and instead, I improved. Unlike in my childhood, my mother had never sought another art teacher to guide me; instead, I self-taught through online research. It was a bit challenging, as there was no one to advise me, and it was always troubling when I ended up accidentally just “tracing” my reference art rather than developing my own style, which I have, by the way, and still is as time goes by.
After two years, I would not dare to say I was really good at drawing now, but I could tell the black lines on the paper were starting to bend toward my will under my pencil, forming into anything possible. That was also when I discovered: animation.
I’m pretty sure animation is just drawing…things that could move… That was my first reaction. Cool, let’s try it out. But then I proceed to suffer as I save up hundreds of animation tutorials I know I will never bother watching.
After one year of a cycle of inspiring moments and endless sketching, I am confident to say that animation is also going well for me, and if I’m not wrong, it seems easier than it looks! I would say that all animation actually takes is determination, patience, and some legit art skills.
From my artistic journey, I can reveal a few things about myself: one, I am an intelligent person, as I can learn things on my own, and if I don’t understand something, I will take action, such as going online to search for advice. Two, I am determined, even though I do not remember how, but I have made it all the way to where I am now! And three, I am very creative and flexible, as before, I was able to constantly change my art style!
As much as I think I am pretty good at art, I still have goals. One primary goal I have is to earn money from my art one day, as I have seen friends around me do it before, and the idea itself looks pretty cool! Another goal is to be confident enough to share my art with my classmates! Whenever someone asked to see my doodles, I would be so embarrassed and scared that they would criticize my art that I would refuse the request.
Overall, this is about me and my experience with drawing and animating. I hope I can make just a little bit further with this hobby of mine!
