What is happening？
Lily stomps across the floor,
She doesn’t smile like before.
She shouts and pouts and shakes her head,
So many thoughts inside her spread.
Her mom said chores must still be done,
Her dad spilled juice and made a mess.
Her grandma called her by the wrong name,
Her grandpa’s fort broke down just the same.
Her aunt moved far to a brand new town,
Her uncle’s smile turned upside-down.
Her cat went hiding in the chair,
Her dog just growled and wouldn’t care.
But then her sister took her hand,
And off they went, just as they planned.
They read some books but didn’t smile,
Then came back home…
SURPRISE!
“It’s your birthday!” voices ring,
With cake and joy and songs to sing!
