The Ocean
Blue ocean shimmering under the light
Coral reefs full of fish, a brilliant sight
Snorkeling through a school of color
Each part making me fuller
Diving down into the deep
The memories for me to keep
Laughing and smiling with glee
Swimming through the water, free
Dolphins to sharks to manta rays
As they swim past unfazed
Waving their fins with a smile
Speeding ahead by a mile
Soft white sand covered with shells
Sand dollars and sea urchins that fell
Waves lapping onto the shore
Everytime wanting more
Tall waves crashing with might
Screaming and splashing for a fight
Salty spray of water onto my face
Each one winning the race
The ocean is sometimes a safe place
A soft cocoon of lace
Sometimes fierce and crazily mad
Swirling in thought, lonely and sad
But the
ocean
is
special.
