Max Verstappen Staying at Red Bull — But for How Long?
Formula 1 fans have been wondering if racing superstar Max Verstappen will leave Red Bull Racing, but for now, the answer is: he’s staying. There have been rumors all year that Max might leave Red Bull.
Some people thought he might move to another major team, such as Mercedes. But Max made it clear at the Hungarian Grand Prix — he’s not leaving this summer, and he plans to stay with Red Bull at least through 2026. Max has a contract with Red Bull that includes special rules. If the team wasn’t doing well, he could choose to leave early. But because he’s still winning races and the team is performing well, he doesn’t have a reason to break the contract right now.
What About the Future?
Even though Max is staying now, things could change after 2026. Some experts believe he might leave if Red Bull’s cars stop being competitive. Teams like Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes are getting stronger, and if they start beating Red Bull more often, Max might want a new challenge. Zak Brown, the boss of McLaren, said he thinks Max will leave Red Bull after 2026. But no one knows for sure — not even Max. “I don’t know, but the fact that no one will definitively commit to where Max is driving indicates something is going on,” is what he told the press during an interview.
What This Means for F1
Max Verstappen is one of the best drivers in Formula 1 today. Wherever he races, that team has a great chance to win. Currently, Red Bull remains one of the top teams, but if things start to go awry, Max may not wait around.
