Timmy the Stranded Whale’s Great Adventure

Timmy the whale grumbled as he swam onto a sand bar again for the second time. “Now I’m stuck again in this stupid shallow sandbar with NO way for me to get out.” Timmy grunted and strained and pushed, . He was beached.

The first time he beached himself, a group of kind hoomans (At least thats what he thought they were called) had helped him get unstuck. Now, there was nobody in sight to help him again. “HEEEEELLLLLLLLPPP!!!” Timmy bellowed, trying to get someone, anyone to help him.

Then, a lightbulb formed over his head. An idea! He puffed jets of water over and over so people or animals could see him. After an hour with no success, he ended up tired and ready to give up. Plus, his flippers were asleep. Just as he was ready to give up, he saw a tiny speck of a boat coming his way. Hoomans! Maybe they could help him.

Timmy tried to get their attention. He flailed and flapped and spurted water until he was sure they spotted him. As the boat came closer, he realized with a jolt that was the boat that saved him the last time he was beached. ”Finally!” Timmy thought. “Help was coming!”

As he watched, some hoomans came out and slowly approached him. They pushed him, using levers and pulleys to slowly tug him. Gradually but surely, he found he was making some slow progress out of the bar. One hour later, he found that he could wriggle a little bit. Two hours later, he found that he could squirm. Three, and he could roll. Four went by and he could eventually maneuver himself out of the shallow sandbar! He was free! Timmy zoomed and zipped around the water, happy to finally be free.
