Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields Music Festival
Olivia Rodrigo, a 23-year-old American singer and songwriter, launched the first Daisy Chain Fields music festival on August 29, 2026, at the Great Park in Irvine, California. The sold-out festival brought together around 45,000 people and plenty of well-known female artists including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Bikini Kill, Garbage, Mitski and Sarah McLachlan.
The festival was also inspired by Lilith Fair, a festival founded by Sarah McLachlan in the 1990s. The event was created to celebrate women in music and raise money for organisations supporting women and girls.
Daisy Chain Fields was more than just a music festival, as the female artists who performed represented different generations. Together, they formed a kind of history of women in music, from older artists to the newest generation. Stevie Nicks and Sarah McLachlan represented the earlier generations, while Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan and Doechii represented the younger artists nowadays. Bikini Kill and Garbage also brought the influence of 1990s alternative and punk music. This was a very important event that was against the male gaze and supported feminism.
, “I’m somewhat awe-struck that she could do all this, because it’s so hard.” Other attended artists, like Sarah McLachlan and Santigold, also praised Olivia for doing a great job. More than the attended artists, that the event had a significant influence on the community, saying that “seeing that vision come to life at this size and scale, in the festival’s first year, was extraordinary.”

But, one of The a New York Times’ articles states that there was also some irony in the festival, as it promoted equality while some tickets cost as much as $1,250 for pit access. However, the festival still raised $20 million for 10 organisations supporting women and girls, making a significant contribution to these causes.

Many audience members supported the event because it brought different generations of female artists together. And many people are looking forward to having Daisy Chain Fields music festival next year or having more similar events in the future.
