The Ineffective Cease-Fire Between US and Iran
As of April 8, after the agreement on a cease-fire of US and Iran, Israel continued attacking Lebanon not even 24 hours later. Because Iran thinks that Lebanon should be included the cease-fire agreement, Iran and US started to have divergence in ideas.
The Israel attacked Lebanon less than 24 hours after the cease-fire was first discussed. This attack to Lebanon caused 180 people to and 900 to be injured. Additionally, Iran said that it emphasizes protecting Hezbollah first, so this means that they are hinting to the US that abandoning an ally will send the wrong signal.
Not only is this part of the deal destined to fail, but also other parts. The cease-fire agreement should restore shipping, but there is still a few ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. So, Iran is using this as a chance to collect money from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. And the US says that this is “completely unacceptable.”
Israel not only has broken the cease-fire with US by attacking Lebanon, they also have broken the cease-fire inside their own country. For example, a missile attack caused a kid to die.
To conclude, the cease-fire of US and Iran has not been effective. It even caused some damage.
