Japan’s Helpful Robots
At the beginning of May, 2026, Japan’s Haneda airport introduced robots to help handle luggage. These robots will work with the airport’s staff. However, these robots are just an experiment that is planned to run until 2028. Since the robots were introduced, there has been a strong debate about whether robots should replace humans in manual tasks. In my opinion, robots are useful for these jobs.
According to Kiwi Kids News, the Haneda airport in Tokyo is one of Japan’s busiest airports, welcoming about 60 million travelers each year. These helpful robots are made by a Chinese company in Hangzhou called Unitree.
These robots have many advantages. For instance, they can work for almost two to three hours without stopping, although they still need to be charged during the day. But, unlike humans, they don’t need to have rest, and they can work much longer than humans. Also, robots can do some challenging and risky tasks. For example, robots can clean the high windows, which humans shouldn’t do.
Some people might say that robots might break sometimes, so the efficiency will lower. But what I want to say is that now China is producing high-quality robots. Robots won’t break unless we break it ourselves. In addition, some people might say that if we let robots replace humans in manual tasks, it will replace human jobs. But, according to Kiwi Kids News, the robots will not replace humans because the company will let human do some important tasks like safety management. So, some important tasks will just be led by humans, not robots.
So in conclusion, I believe that robots should replace humans in manual tasks.
