Right around the month of Christmas, a small family of four sets up their Christmas Tree; hanging ornaments, placing gifts, and setting up decorations. However, despite all the holiday cheer, a small problem made its way to explore the new decorations.

A sleek ginger tabby cat called Honeydrop walked over to the towering green tree, with round orbs reflecting light hanging off the short branches. The scent of the tree was new, like nothing she had ever smelled before. Unfortunately, before the Honeydrop could get any closer, the mother, who had red hair and blue eyes noticed and scooped her up.

“No tree,” she scolded the female ginger firmly before placing her down in the kitchen. Honeydrop growled in frustration, watching as the mother walked back into the living room. After a while of waiting like a loaf of bread on the kitchen floor, she got up and trotted back to the living room. This time she avoided the mom and managed to hide behind the tree. Yet, the twin children spotted her, and quickly took her away.

“No tree!” tThey said, dropping Honeydrop off in the bathroom. Honeydrop shook out her fur, and glared fiercely at the children as they moved away. When everyone seemed to finally forget that she was actually there, Honeydrop made her third move. She snuck back around the cat tree, narrowly avoiding the children’s running feet. Next, Honeydrop walked behind the TV, and finally managed to jump to the base where the Christmas tree stood.

Honeydrop leaned closer, raising a paw, when hands grabbed her away. “No tree!” The father said, pulling Honeydrop away from her goal. She let out a low “mrowwww” of protest as the father, who had blonde hair and blue eyes,  placedeyes, placed her high up on the cat tree, allowing the family to watch her if she tried to climb the tree again.

Honeydrop growled, then sat down on the cat tree with a huff, glaring with the fierceness of a tiger as her humans laughed and interacted with each other. At last, the family got up and left the living room when they thought Honeydrop had gone to sleep, curled up on the spot. The instant they were out, Honeydraw leapt to her paws, ready to jump down and race to the tree. Then, she froze. If she jumped down, the sound may alert her humans-not that they had the best hearing but still-so she needed to think of another way.

As she thought, Honeydrop examined the distance between where she was standing and where the top of the tree was. If she leaped far enough, she could land perfectly on the tree, and make her way down to the middle. It was risky, but it could work. So, Honey drop stood at the other end of the cat tree platform, got a running start, and pushed off the edge with all her strength, stretching her paws out for the green branches.

She hit the tree with a bam. Success! Honeydrop was so caught up in her victory, she didn’t notice the tree leaning over, farther, and farther until…

!!!CRASH!!!

The Christmas tree had collapsed under Honeydro’s sudden attack from the cat tree. Honeydrop quickly ran behind the couch, crouching as footsteps hurried into the living room. The humans were yelling, causing the fur on Honeydrop’s spine to rise in fear. She tried to shrink herself against the couch, closing her eyes.

Honeydrop had dozed for a while, and by now things had quieted down. She opened her eyes, blinking drowsily as she got up and stretched. Honeydrop stepped out from behind the couch, looking around for any dangers. The Christmas tree stood where it used to be, the ornaments shining like stars. Instead of trying to climb it again, Honeydrop just sat there, watching the tree from a distance, quiet.
