Blistering summer days,
The “splash!” of the sparkling pool,
Tennis balls ricocheting from side to side,
Biking through erratic gusts of wind,
Laughter paired with the brightly shining sun.
Chilly autumn evenings,
Cramming in every ounce of knowledge for tests,
Checking the clock at 1:13 am,
Warm furnaces one’s only friend,
Through the pain and stress.
Devilish cold,
Wearing five layers of clothing in freezing weather,
Slowly yet surely powering through,
Leaves coming in,
Just like the fruits of labor.
Crisp, cool air,
The sweet countdown to freedom,
Beautiful pink blossoms,
Up and down the streets,
School closing.
A new year begins.
The cycle repeats.
