On June 25, 2023, four Americans volunteered to live in a simulated version of Mars for one year. This will happen at Johnson Space Center in Houston. The four volunteered for this because if they go to Mars the same thing will happen. The four people were selected from a gigantic pool of over 4,000 people! The 3D printout has private crew quarters, a kitchen, and two bathrooms. It also has a dedicated work room, recreation room, and fitness areas. The four people who got picked each have a specific job. Kelly Haston job is the mission commander, Ross Brockwell is the flight engineer, Nathen Jones will act as the medical officer, and Anca Selariu will be the science officer. While they are in the dome they will be doing the things that they were assigned.
