Playing Hockey

Nothing is better than winning a hockey game and celebrating with your teammates. For me, ice hockey isn’t just a sport. From playing defense to scoring goals, hockey has kept me anchored for over 8 years. Whenever I feel stressed or anxious, stepping back on the ice makes these worries disappear.
Hockey demands several things: being able to handle the puck skillfully, skate, and predicting where the puck would go next. These are several skills that are crucial to making a good player. Currently, the skill that I need to improve the most is the ability to read the play. I don’t have much of a gamesense, because I rely on simple plays. However, as I began to enter higher leagues, the need to develop complex plays became crucial. To improve, I have started rewatching recordings of my games. This way, I can identify areas where I could have made better decisions.
Making a higher team matters to me because it validates my eight years of hard work. It is proof that my dedication has achieved something.
