The Weavings
In the beginning,
there were only two,
light and dark,
good and evil.
The darkness itself,
a parasite,
feasting upon
man’s sorrow.
That was Her,
Evil’s apostle,
with tricks and traps,
hidden.
The lovely light,
graceful as ever,
growing upon smiles,
and children’s laughs.
The name was She,
Her archenemy,
Listening to,
the world’s happy few.
They began to weave,
gathering thread,
and stitching,
every seam.
Her wove sadness,
heartbreak and grief,
match-paced with,
the thread.
Yet She wove light,
which rarely came,
slowly building,
the foundation.
The world is full,
of woe and regret,
yet Her yearned for more
than that.
Her caused chaos,
unleashed violence,
even disasters,
just to make thread and weave.
While She waited,
as time past,
for threads
of true happiness.
By the end
of time,
Her had a train,
She had a scarf.
But She’s fabric,
sparkled with life,
while Her fabric,
was dull and dead.
Though light is scarce,
and darkness is inevitable,
light is true,
and darkness, only temporary.
So, with a choice,
so, with a sound,
will you stay in the dark,
or risk it all for the light?
