It was yesterday when he came onto our church’s doorsteps. Now he lied calmly on the cold hard wooden boards, void of life. Right next to him lied a patron of the church. Actually, it was yesterday when he came to the church. What kind of church would ours be if we were to turn our heads away from a dying baby? It’s pretty common to see these poor babies be left behind by their shameful parents. However, this one had unfortunately passed away before having a chance to be baptized. We hope that the patron could take the kid’s soul to heaven alongside him.

These things are way too common if I had to say so myself. , There was no way I could ever do something as despicable. Nonetheless , The longer you live the more you see. Even with that said, there weren’t many cases where the kid passed before their baptism. I’ve only witnessed this happening one other time in my life , and that was when I was ten. I remember, not vividly, that but it was a cloudy day. There were many whispers and conversations about the burial. Even though the Bible prohibited gossip, as a kid, I naturally catered to my curiosity and said what I heard to my friends. We all unanimously decided to check it out. Out in the back of the church, there were many men helping with the burial. I wasn’t able to get a clear look at the kid, but he was certainly not older than five.

The rest of the day with my friends felt grim despite all attempts at cheering myself up. Of course, I had seen something that no kid of my age should was supposed to (Wordy phrase) see. Looking back on it, that event changed the course of my life forever. That is also why I decided to dedicate my life to the church – helping those who need it in any way I could. Many say I’m too kind. Maybe I am, but I never question it.
