When I get back home after a long day of lessons, homework is not something I look forward to. Tiredness tugs at me, and I long for my phone, yet work still awaits there is still work waiting for me to do—but all that could disappear with the help of AI. I admit it. Sometimes I really do give in. I never considered the cost until I read the article “undefined”
Lately, I have been found myself reflecting on the effects of technology – specifically particularly AI – and how deeply it is woven into my daily routines. This is why the NYT article caught my eye. The experiment conducted at MIT is striking evidence of how AI might be dependable and fast, but it is suppressing learning abilities. It also raises the question whether one truly owns a piece of work with the usage or help of AI. As stated by Dr. Kosmyna, “If you don’t remember what you wrote, you don’t feel ownership. Do you even care?”
This article invoked deep thought in me as Prior to this article, I never considered thought that using AI would could contribute to a decreasing mental state called of “brain rot.” I realized that the article may be correct and is critically relevant to myself. For example, my reading scores and reflexes tested in school have decreased significantly ever since I logged onto social media.
Reading this article, I was blown away. I thought believed that social media and AI use was destructive, yet with mindful use and independent thinking, it can still be magical.
