Active Volcano Erupts Again In Sicily
Did you know that there is a volcano that erupted in Sicily, Europe on June 29? Mount Etna is on a Mediterranean Island. Sicily’s volcano is named Mount Etna. Mount Etna is an active volcano. It is the tallest active volcano in Europe! Mount Etna is 3,400 meters tall and has a base that is 100 miles wide. Mount Etna can erupt many times in a year, even sometimes multiple times in a month! You can even see the brightness of the lava from miles away! The scientist from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology said the eastern side of Mount Etna erupted first. According to the BBC, “The volcano is so big it can be seen from just about every part of Sicily.”
