The article I read was “Russia Bombards Ukrainian Capital With Deadly Wave of Attacks” written by NYT journalists Cassandra Vinograd and Marc Santora.

I thought that the invasion of Ukraine was something happening half a world away. Now I realize that this invasion has affected the lives of many people just like me. I do not know how the Ukrainians have held the Russians off this long when, in 2022, the projected length of the war was about 10 days. Russia tried very hard to invade Ukraine, but Ukrainians’ loyalty to their own country paid off. Now, after four years, Russia has still not even invaded even a fourth of Ukraine. However, there is a new study from CNN that shows the number of casualties, wounded and dead, has undefinedundefined

That number shows that a lot of people’s lives have been affected by this invasion. I am sure many kids in Ukraine and Russia have sadly lost both their schools and their homes due to bombings. I am still not sure why Mr. Vladimir Putin wanted to invade Ukraine in the first place.
