The Boy and Global Warming

There once was a boy who loved nature. The trees were his playground and the flowers were his friends. The boy loved admiring the beauty of nature every single day. He did his homework on the grass and read his books in the shade of the trees.

One day, the boy went outside for a short stroll. He saw that the trees’ leaves were becoming slightly brown. He thought that it was just the lighting. The next morning, the boy was walking to school and saw that there were dead leaves scattered across the road and that the grass had become yellow.

He immediately went to the teacher to ask why it was happening. The teacher answered half-heartedly, saying that “It’s just summer, so it’s too hot, and the hot air is being trapped inside the atmosphere.” The child knew that this was not normal because last year, there weren’t so many dead leaves.

During science class, the boy asked the teacher, “What traps warm air inside the atmosphere?” The teacher replied, “CO2”.

When the boy got back home, he went directly to his room to research how he could stop CO2 from being produced. The boy learned that CO2 was produced by gas cars and factories. He also saw that plants helped breathe in the CO2.

The next day, the boy went to the market and used all his allowance to buy a ton of seeds. He went to his community park and planted all of them. The boy and his friends even did fundraisers to buy more seeds for growing trees. In addition, he also convinced his parents not to use gas cars anymore.

The boy also made a global warming project to show his classmates why global warming was bad. He did this by combining baking soda and vinegar, which makes CO2. Then, he put a heat lamp over two jars, one with the CO2 and one without. After 5 minutes, he measured the temperature of each jar. The jar with Co2 was at 89 degrees Fahrenheit, and the jar without CO2 was only 70 degrees Fahrenheit. His classmates all understood that gas cars and factories were bad for the environment. Therefore, they made posters saying that gas cars were bad for the environment.

In the end, the community park was full of bright green grass and tall flourishing trees. The park looked this way thanks to the young boy.
