The Reflection Pool in the U.S. Turns Murkier
The Reflection Pool has been an important part of U.S. gatherings since it was built in 1923. However, over time, the pool, originally intended to reflect important U.S. monuments, has become much greener. Even after thorough cleaning was arranged by Mr. Trump, the pool continues to grow algae.
Mr. Trump hired a cleaning company to restore the pool. He said that he would “paint the pool American flag blue.” However, the pool continued to turn green due to algae growing on the water’s surface despite workers using efficient cleaning methods. David Hearn, a 67-year-old DC resident who observed floating green chunks and algae, said, “I walked down to see the new pool right after they filled it. Within four days, the water went from bright blue to dull, murky green slop, and big sheets of the blue paint liner floated to the surface, where they mixed with the algae.” Apparently, the pool is indirectly connected to a polluted river, where farming chemicals promote algae growth.
Mr. Trump also noticed flakes of blue liner paint floating to the surface and blamed the public, saying they treated the property poorly. However, most people believe it was just because the painting during cleaning wasn’t done thoroughly.
