The Royal Mail Has Released Ten New Stamps Based on Waterfalls
Out of 200 or more waterfalls in the UK, ten of them have been chosen to be displayed on the new stamps the Royal Mail released on June 23, 2026 (World Waterfall Database). They are meant to showcase the beauty of nature and to encourage people to visit and protect those natural wonders (CBBC).
From the Scottish Highlands to County Antrim, these waterfalls are the ten most beautiful waterfalls have been selected. This stamp series is supposed to focus on “the richness of our natural environments which have been shaped by water over thousands of years,” says David Gold, the Director of External Affairs and Policy at Royal Mail (BBC).
One of the ten waterfalls is Becky Falls, located in Devon. Paul Richards, the owner of Becky Falls, told BBC it was a “proud moment” for everyone who knew the waterfall and described Becky Falls as a natural wonder and “one of Devon’s most beautiful natural attractions” (BBC).
Becky Falls is located in England alongside three others: High Force, Hardraw Force, and Aysgarth Falls. In Scotland, the Fairy Pools of Glen Brittle and the Rogie Falls are both located in the highlands. Conwy Falls and Pistyll Rhaeadr are in Wales while Ess-Na-Larach Waterfall and Pollnagollum Cave are located in Northern Ireland.
All of these beautiful waterfalls are featured on the new stamps. The Royal Mail hopes that seeing these natural wonders will encourage people to protect and take care of nature.
