Serena Williams Announces Comeback
44-year-old Serena Williams announced her return to tennis later this month. She also confirmed that she will play the women’s doubles at London’s Queen’s Club next week.
Rumors of her comeback say that Serena may be staging a comeback that started last year, but the player disputed her return. However, on Monday, she shared a video on social media of her walking onto a tennis court! A caption stated, “Guess everybody heard the news,” alongside a post that said: “Good news travels fast.”
Serena had a permission to play and join the Queen Club. She will be playing with a 19-year-old Canadian Victoria Mboko in the women’s doubles. Serena said, “Queen’s Club feels like the perfect place to begin this next chapter,” she explained, “Grass has given me some of the most meaningful moments of my career and I’m excited to be back competing on one of the sport’s most iconic stages.”
Serena has won a lot of awards in tennis. the second highest of all the time in the women’s games! She’s also known for playing lots of doubles with her older sister, Venus. The pair have won 14 Grand Slam titles.
