The sun was very hot on the white sand of the beach. Aish and Bish are two little blue fish who live in the ocean. They live in the ocean and love to swim in the cool water. Suddenly, a big wave took the two fish out of the ocean and dropped them onto the sand.

Aish felt very dry. He needs water to drink and breathe. His throat felt as though it was full of hot sand. Aish felt very thirsty.

Bish looks at the cool water. The water is nearby but the two fish cannot walk on the sand. The water comes up the sand and recedes back into the ocean.

Aish feels that he must go home. He begins to move his tail to try to walk on the hot sand. He hops a few inches forward on the sand. It is scorching but he does not stop. He moves a little bit forward.

Bish lays on the sand. He feels too exhausted to go any farther towards the shore. Bish said, "The sun is too hot and that the water is too far away".

Bish stops trying to move forward.

Aish does not stop. He hops again on the sand. He falls off the sand. Aish hops again but falls off the sand once more. Aish tries to move forward many times but eventually manages to get up each time. His body hurts but he does not give up.

After many tries, Aish manages to make a big hop forward. A cool wave comes up the sand and hits Aish. The wave takes Aish back into the ocean.

Aish feels wonderful in the ocean. His thirst is gone. He swims back to Bish and uses his nose to push Bish into the ocean. Bish opens his eyes in the cool water. He smiles at Aish. Bish understands that giving up means you will always fail. He learned that even when a problem feels too big and hurts too much, trying your hardest is the only way to make things better.
