NASA Wants to Build a Moon Base by 2032

NASA wants to build a base on the moon before President Donald Trump finishes his presidential term by 2029. NASA is also trying to beat China in the lunar race since China has ambitions to reach and build a permanent moon base on the moon by the year 2030. The race between the two superpowers has been happening geopolitical dominance, and being a step ahead of the other to reaching Mars.
Allen Cutler, the CEO of the Coalition for Deep Space Exploration, said “The country that lands on the moon first will shape the rules of engagement in space for decades to come. That leadership must come from the United States.” Allen’s comment suggests that the first nation to establish a permanent presence on the Moon will likely dictate international laws, technical standards, and data protocols for all future lunar activity and deep-space activities. It could crush or halt NASA’s research on lunar rocks. Major General Gregory Gagnon said, “If China gets to the moon first, we will see a global realignment that will impact our economy, our tax base, our ability to innovate, and our national security.” Gagnon comment believes that if China establishes a dominant lunar presence first, it will reorder global power dynamics, forcing allies to in outer space.
If the Americans beat China in the lunar race, they will probably secure American leadership and establish permanent infrastructure on the moon. If China beats America in the lunar race, China would secure a massive geopolitical and economic advantage.
