The Watch
On her 11th birthday, a girl named Charlotte got a pocket watch. It had a gold rim with a weird symbol where the numbers were supposed to be. Charlotte didn’t think much of it, so she set the time where the number 6 was supposed to be and went to bed. The next morning, something rather strange happened. Her grandma had perished, there was no trace of foul play, so the police thought it was from old age. Except, when Charlotte unlocked her phone and checked her messages, her grandma was the sixth to the last person she texted before she set the time. All of a sudden, she wondered if the person she texted before she set the time was going to perish. She thought about it for a few minutes, decided to keep the pocket watch in a drawer, and went to school.
Little did she know, while she was at school, her little brother was snooping around in her room, and when he opened the drawer, he saw the pocket watch. Her brother got curious and kept playing and setting the time one by one. When Charlotte got home, she noticed the watch was gone. Charlotte got nervous, wondering if the curse was true. She searched every part of the house and finally found the watch in her brother’s closet. She confronted her brother, and it became a huge fight.
When her dad tried to break up the fight, Charlotte then got into an argument with him about the watch. She went to bed furious and nervous at the same time. The next morning, almost all of her contacts had mysteriously disappeared. Thankfully, neither her parents nor siblings had disappeared, but sadly her best friend had disappeared. She tried to find her with the police but failed. That night, she cried a lot and threw away the watch. Hopefully she will never see the watch again.
