A “Dream” Come True

As Jordan closes his eyes to go to sleep, his eyes suddenly open back up. Oh. That was just a dream. He looks at the alarm clock right next to him. 10:00 AM. Weird, the dream I just had showed that I woke up at 10:00 AM. I guess it’s a coincidence. As he changes into a new set of clothes and opens his curtains, he looks outside. Interesting. It’s raining today, and it was raining in my dream…Another coincidence?

He walks outside to see his mother preparing his breakfast: pancakes with maple syrup topped with some fruits. As he looked at it, he noticed that it looked identical to the breakfast in his dream, even with the same sweet aroma. It’s just a coincidence. There’s no way the power outage is going to happen… As he eats his breakfast, he really wonders if the dream he just had was going to be real.

When he finished, he walked back into his room to complete his school assignments. As he opened his computer to check his assignments, he looked at the homework he had to do. 1 assignment from ELA, Math, and Science each. Didn’t I have 3 assignments to complete in my dream? This is so weird… He didn’t think much of it at first.
The moment he completed his math assignment, the lights in his room powered off. He yelled, “Mom, what happened to the lights?”
She replied, “I think the power went out! I’m going to call the power company and see if they can fix it!”
Now he was certain that his dream was happening. He thought back to what happened inside his dream. After the power outage. . .WAIT! The tree branches are going to fall and knock our plants over! It happened at 1:30, and it’s 1:15 right now!
“WAIT! Mom, help me move the plants outside.”
“Why?”
“The tree branches are going to fall in a few minutes.”
“They aren’t going to fall. It’s not even windy, and the branches are fully on the tree.”
Hearing this, he pulled on a pair of sandals and rushed outside.
“I’m going outside for a walk!” he said to his mom.
As he walked outside, he looked at his watch. 1:20. I should have enough time to move all the plants. He quickly started moving all of his plants to his backyard, one by one. Eventually, there were five left. Then three were left. Then one left. Then zero. He quickly ran back into his house, not daring to look at his watch. He took off his sandals and looked at his watch. 1:28. Phew, I moved them just in time! Just as he finished pouring some water into a cup, he heard the crashing sound of the branches. They both looked to the front yard, instantly.
“Oh my god! Good thing you moved the plants to the backyard!” his mom said in shock.
“I didn’t expect it either,” Jordan replied.
He walked into his room to continue with his day. Everything progressed just like how it happened in his dream. He finished his homework, ate lunch, and ate dinner, all while in darkness. He didn’t remember when the lights would come back on. All he could do was hope that it would come back soon. Right before he was going to sleep, the lights in his room came back on. Nice, the power is back on! He got into his bed and closed his eyes. The next second, his eyes opened, and he saw his alarm clock. 10:00 AM again.
