No Bank Holiday in Scotland
The king issued a bank holiday because the national soccer team qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 28 years. I disagree with the king. A bank holiday, to me, is a holiday acknowledging a historical accomplishment.
This bank holiday is about soccer and the World Cup, which will happen many more times. The team qualifying for the World Cup is not important to the casual citizen. Furthermore, this holiday is on a Monday, the busiest day of the week. After a weekend, Monday means the start of work and school. This will affect the calendars of many people and create a chain reaction for a bad week.
twenty-eight years, so it could be counted, right? If a bank holiday is like that, why not have a bank holiday every time a king?
Because of all these examples, I hope you think there shouldn’t be a bank holiday for Scotland.
