The World Cup happens only once every four years, so naturally many people would want to watch it. Plus, who wouldn’t want to have their favourite food and some friends over to enjoy a nice football game? Every year, the World Cup gets an astonishing number of viewers. For example, in 2022 at Qatar, there was around 1.8 million fans watching and for the final match last time 4 years ago, it was 1.5 billion people. This year, the Scottish men’s football team has finally qualified for the first time in about 25 years. That’s why the Scottish king has ordered to stop school for a day so everyone can celebrate and watch their country play. This holiday will be celebrated on Monday, June 15th. The match will begin at 2 in the morning because the upcoming World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The Scottish King’s decision is the right thing to do because this might never happen again and it’s the first time Scotlands football team will play in the World Cup.
The king has said that this is not just a football game but an achievement and a goal to the Scottish team and the country. The team has gotten highly praised by its country. This move was correct because this marks a special time in history. The king’s actions were very correct and I feel empathy and pride for the Scottish men having a chance to play in the World Cup.
Some people might say that this is not necessary, because they don’t think football has anything to do with education and that most children won’t watch because it will be too late. to do but I think that However, it should be counted as a holiday because the Scottish team needs support to increase their chances of winning this year and in the future.
