A Day in Whiskers’ Paws
This morning started like a usual day. I got up… brushed my teeth and changed. Then, I looked Whiskers, my cat, and suddenly we switched bodies. One second I was casually enjoying my morning routine, the next I was looking out of Whisker’s green eyes, my tail twitching in panic.
“Uh… Okay this is weird,” I thought. Whiskers’ now in my body, looked at me and immediately knocked over the bottle of water. “Uh, sorry?” I heard myself say. Well, technically it was Whiskers in my body talking.
Breakfast was chaos. Whiskers tried walking on all fours on my human body and kept falling over. Whiskers, with my hands, was grabbing cereal and milk, but mostly spilling it everywhere. My little sister laughed so hard she almost fell off the couch.
Then, it was school time. I had to go in Whiskers’ body, and kids screamed when they saw me hopping around on all fours. Some of the kids chased me, thinking I was a wild cat. Meanwhile, Whiskers in my body tried doing math, but all my notes turned into scribbles and doodles. The teacher frowned and said, “Hmm… Interesting method.”
Lunch was even worse. I couldn’t even eat my sandwich with my paws, so I just stared at it. Whiskers, using my hands, accidentally squirted ketchup everywhere. It even landed on the principal’s shoes! I wanted to disappear.
By the afternoon, we got back home, both tired and messy. One blink later, we were back in our bodies. Whiskers stretched like nothing happened, while I flopped on my bed, laughing so hard my stomach hurt.
“Never again,” I said. Whiskers just purred, probably thinking, “but it was kinda fun.”
