Should People Ban Children From Public Spaces?

In my opinion, people should be able to ban children from some public spaces.

In France, during January 2026, the SNCF railway service decided to not let children under 12 years old enter the “Optimus” train carriage. The train carriage is children-free because it is giving parents a chance to have free time to relax or to do work. This decision has prompted debate about whether the government should ban children from public spaces.

Firstly, children can get hurt in some public spaces. For example, some BB shooting places can hurt children a lot if they are shot in the eye or mouth. Also, children may forget their protection vest and protection mask as well. Generally, children under 18 are not allowed to purchase them on their own.

Secondly, children might get bullied in some adult-only places. For example, if a child went to a bar, then he may get bullied because inside it is full of grownups and teens that are not welcoming. In worse cases, children can also get taken away and get poisoned.

Thirdly, children can also get harmed mentally as well as physically in adult-only places. For example, if a family brings in their child to an adult-only place, other adults might say bad things about them. These stories and rumors can worry the child and harm them mentally.

Lastly, some children think it is good for them go to some places that are not children-friendly, but they already have places to have fun in, such as playgrounds, pools and amusement parks. For example, if a kid is in an adult-only cafe and there are a lot of people crowding there, then they may get lost, and never see their parents again and live an unhappy life.

In conclusion, the government should ban children from inappropriate or unsafe places.
