Football Player Reports Racism
Liverpool played a match against Bournemouth. During the match, one of the members of the Bournemouth team reported racism. Antoine Semenyo said someone had racially abused him. It’s a good thing he called it out because his team took it seriously and the case was immediately reported to the police. The case was under investigation and it was soon revealed that the person who was being racist was in the stands and was a 47yearold man. Things were brought to justice, and the man was taken in instantly. Racism has no place in any continent. Although it is very rude, people are still racist to certain races today. But, many people are antiracist and stand together to end racism entirely. Soon after the incident, a player from the women soccer team the Lionesses, which is the girls soccer team for England, Jess Carter, had revealed she was targeted for her race and was getting rude comments during the Lionesses match. Racism happens to all races and genders. If you ever do see racism happening toward one of your fellow friends, make sure to report it instantly. If racism ever happens to you, stand up and tell them to stop. Some people don’t know how hurtful their words are to certain people. Mistakes happen, just tell them to stop. If they, don’t once again report it. Don’t just help your friends, but all people. One thing is for certain, racism should be erased. – Clarissa Schroeder
