Snowman
I’m not there, not yet
made of snow, for now
three big snowballs, assembled
two coal eyes, to see
one carrot nose, to smell
one ugly scarf, for looks
two long twigs, for arms
come to life, I have
play in snow, for fun
sun has come, oh no
melt all down, . . .
Seasons
warm breeze settles in
filled with hope to the brim
see the stars, bright but dim
fill my heart from within
sun starts to shine bright
intense heat through the night
flowers bloom and trees grow
the heat still makes me wish for snow
air is clean and cool
sweaters made of wool
red leaves falling down
geese migrate out of town
frost spreads across the street
freezing cold beats the summer heat
children play in the snow
snowmen have a fashion show
Blue
Blue is the sound that says boom boom boom
Blue is the splash of the summer pool
Blue is the song of the morning jay
Blue is the sound of waves at bay
Blue is the color and meaning of calm
Blue is the cool when the summer bombs
Blue is the taste of the blueberry
Blue is the festive holiday’s merry
Blue is the roar of the lion’s pride
Blue is the heat of the blue flame’s tide
Blue is the core of our emotions and love
Blue is all of these listed above
Haikus
try and try, retry again
why retry at all
because haiku’s not easy
moment of peace, quiet
pitter and patter goes the droplets
listen to the rain
fish swim through the deep
waves collide against the cliff
endless seas stretch out
bloom, sprout, live beneath
bright colors, beauty and meaning
flowers are more than plants
