Jupiter and Venus Conjunction
On August 12, 2025, Jupiter and Venus will look like they’re meeting up in the sky. It is very hard to see these planets together, but they are the brightest planets in the Milky Way.
When two planets meet, it’s called a conjunction. The best time to see this conjunction is in the early morning of August 12. To find these planets, look for two very bright dots that looks close together in the sky. The Royal Observatory Greenwich says that Jupiter will appear golden but Venus will be brighter.
You can see the planets without a telescope, just by looking up. After the conjunction, the two planets will go their own way.
There is another event on August 12 at 9 PM. There will be a meteor shower called the Perseid meteor shower. Scientists say there will be about 100 meteors an hour.
The Jupiter and Venus conjunction will happen every 3.2 years.
